When a curious little caterpillar meets Ashley, a “girl on wheels,” he doesn’t yet know how much they’ll change each other’s lives. Ashley takes him and a couple other caterpillars home, feeds them milkweed, and waits for the miracle of transformation. But when the other butterflies emerge and fly off into the breeze, the curious caterpillar stays tucked inside his chrysalis. Eventually, Ashley's new butterfly friend emerges with a crippled wing. It seems his dream of flying may never come true. With patience, determination, and plenty of love, Ashley shows him that being different can be beautiful and together they discover that even broken wings can fly.
