At Merry Robin Publishing, we offer top-notch editing services to help authors refine their books and ensure they are ready for publication. Our editor, Holly Boud Kolb, meticulously reviews every manuscript before providing feedback and in-line text suggestions to enhance its clarity, coherence, and quality.

Manuscript submission
Complete our Manuscript Evaluation form to inform us of your expectations and project size.
Developmental editing
This is the big-picture editing stage for your manuscript. Together with Holly, you will finalize your work's structure and main ideas.
Substantive editing
After reviewing your manuscript and finalizing its structure, Holly will begin a back and forth with you about suggested edits. You can choose which edits to accept, but Holly will not change your voice or your style. Her edits will be to solely to strengthen and improve the readability of your writing.
Copyediting and proofreading
At this point, we get down to the nitty-gritty. Holly will check for paragraph and sentence level understanding as well as spelling and punctuation.
Complete design service to bring your book to life
At Merry Robin Publishing, we offer a comprehensive design service that includes everything from layout and formatting to a compelling cover design. Working with our designer, Jayne Ann Osborne, you'll give input to transform you manuscript into a beautiful final product.
Cover design
Before designing, Jayne Ann will work with you to understand your vision. Together you'll review examples of covers and styles you like. Jayne Ann will then design two mockups of the front, spine, and back cover of your book including back cover text like quotations, reviews, and a synopsis.
Formatting
Jayne Ann will work with you to choose a formatting style and font before applying them to your manuscript.
Amazon KDP
We will publish through our business Amazon KDP account with you as the author of your finished book. We create a compelling product page to maximize SEO. We will also make your book available on our website as a Merry Robin publication.
ISBN and LCCN
Merry Robin will purchase your book's ISBN and applies for its Library of Congress Catalogue Number. We also ship a finished copy to the Library of Congress upon publication, which helps protect copyright and qualifies your books to appear in libraries around the country.
Post-publication marketing to enhance your book's success
After your book is published, we offer post-publication advice and care services to aid in its success. From marketing to reader engagement, we do our best to ensure your work makes it to as many people as possible.
Launch strategy
With Jayne Ann, you'll discuss book launch strategy options to help get your book into the right hands.
Shareable marketing images
Upon your book's publication, Merry Robin will design shareable marketing images you can use to promote your book through email, social media, and more. We will also annouce your book in our newsletter and on our Instagram.
Library submission
Merry Robin will request your book is acquired by the Salt Lake County Library System. This doesn’t guarantee the library will choose to carry your book, but they do take each request very seriously! Be sure to ask friends and family to request your book at their local libraries too!

Manuscript submission
Fill out our linked Google Form and tell us about what you're working on and its current word count. We'll get back to you with a price quote and next steps.
Customized editing
Allowing our authors to maintain creative control is very important to us. We work directly with you as we proceed with professional editing and proofreading services to refine your manuscript.
Formatting & design
We know you have a specific vision for how your book will look. Based on your vision, we provide expert formatting and cover design to create something you love.
Publication
By publishing with us your book will be available on Amazon KDP and our website. You will retain a 50% royalties on all online profits and are free to sell in person. If you choose to publish elsewhere, we provide information on how to do so.
